Montessori, The Greenhouse Playgroup and Storytelling
Montessori Seedlings (2-4y)
This nursery session is facilitated by Mary Wales, who has over 25 years experience as a Montessori practitioner. We are not affiliated with any particular association. We are independent and have developed our own unique way of applying Maria Montessori's approach and we uphold her teaching methods.
We like to focus on Practical Life, Number Work and Reading and Writing. These focus areas help a child to become school ready, thus feeling confident in themselves when the transition to Reception happens.

The Greenhouse: Free Playgroup
The Greenhouse is a new stay and play for children (0-4y), accompanied by their parents and carers, older siblings welcome. Influenced by Françoise Dolto’s Maison Verte and A.S Neill’s Summerhill School, the group provides a space for children and adults to play and talk freely. We also welcome young children and parents experiencing difficulties and/or with special needs. It is a space for Sunday morning conviviality and community. Everyone is welcome!
Booking is not essential and you can come anytime between 9.00am and 11.00am.
Playgroup leaders, Catherine and Chris hold full DBS clearance checks and have many years of experience working with children and families.
Interactive Storytelling (2 – 4 Year Olds)
An introduction to communication stories for toddlers to enjoy an interactive storytelling activity in an inclusive, safe and fun environment. The aim of the sessions are to encourage participation and sharing actions while promoting and developing listening, self confidence, language and communication skills within the narrative of the storytelling session.
The stories will include a “call and response” theme, allowing children to repeat dialogue or sounds at regular intervals throughout the story, along with action songs and a range of resources to explore and experience.
The aim of this session is to provide a stimulating and fun experience while appreciating the chance to learn more about language, storytelling and songs.
Our toddler classes provide parents and children the opportunity to explore a variety of learning experiences in our thoughtfully prepared environment. Together, you will share in activities, read-aloud games, and projects that relate to a new subject each week. During each class we will explore science-related themes through an interdisciplinary lens that focuses on the development of early language, math, fine-motor, and social skills.
Tomato Tutors have access to the finest materials, and our highly personalised instruction, provides children with truly unique learning experiences. Both parents and children will leave each session with a hands-on project, lots of helpful resources, and suggestions for follow-up activities.
